She is not evil I made the other other person's dark hero, Lukian, look way too evil, so I thought I'd nip this one in the bud right now and say she's not evil!

And I was going to get to use her character, Reina Oguchi, in my missing round 2 comic.
In the DeviantART BeginnierArtists Group's OCT that I'd entered Todd in, the second round had to be skipped due to the high forfeiture rate... but Todd's story kinda needed that round anyway, so I needed to find someone who'd let me use their fighting OC for it.
Unfortunately, I couldn't draw back then, and all got in return was THIS crap. A picture so bad I couldn't even use her name OTL . I had to rectify that problem. With this
This looks good, but a lot went wrong.
To keep it short... (
) for starters... I think you can tell what order I drew these in Orz
The main things wrong with the school uniform form- other than how primitive it looks!- are that I totally wasn't thinking when I thought of what to do with her arms, (thought of something stupid) and I drew scary hands. I also had gotten a suggestion a long time ago to shade my drawings with grey color pencil, so I'd gotten an idea long ago that I'd wait until I drew Todd VS Reina and try it as the shading method for that comic. The first drawing proves that isn't going to work...
So back to my regular shading then!
Boy does the second drawing look good. Unfortunately, it took 2 weeks to draw.
Her hair isn't flowing right, though. Her left pigtail was supposed to flow through a curve that went straight down, curved outward, and smoothly curved back inward toward her. Instead, it looks like it's got a clothes hanger inside it making it stick out.
And I had such a good thing going on with it too. I'd never drawn a braid that proper before, so the fact that I also drew it twisting as it went was a big thing, and it wasn't a big FAIL, so that rocks.
I tried to make the expression similar to- but different from- the "3/4 view" in the Reina Oguchi Reference Sheet, while still capturing the "trademark glare" Reina's supposed to have. How'd I do?
Then there's the final drawing. What's wrong with that one?
Her head is beautiful, but it's not right. Her hair is epic, but it's a simultaneously a mess. Her right hand could not be drawn quite large enough because then it would cover too much of her and make her dagger cross too much of the paper. I was also unable to draw any of her right arm due to this. Her pose also isn't quite pronounced enough (needed slightly more) and there are lines in the drawing that should not be there due to me not wanting to pay attention to the older drawing of Reina, using it only to reference the colors for the different drawing and only get the details from the main reference sheet. I didn't look at the drawing again until after I'd inked mine, so it was too late to erase the wrong lines on her weapons and outfit.
As a side note, you may have gotten the idea that I wanted to get permission to have Todd use one of these dagger weapons one day. That idea would be correct. I hope I get it.
My only hope is that I still have her permission to make this comic after all this time
